Revising honorific language in Japanese – Part 2

🍑 Revising HONORIFIC LANGUAGE (II) 🍑

Today MOMO has gathered up the RESPECTFUL LANGUAGE used for the actions of people in the “GROUP ABOVE” you, such as your boss, a client, someone you do not know well…

You learnt structure 1 the other day.

❤️1. Structure 1: V (drop ます) + になる ( not used with group 3 verbs, or with one-syllable group 2 verbs)

Has the teacher gone home?

The department manager does not smoke

Have you read this newspaper, sir?

❤️ 2. Structure 2: the passive form (usually not including the special verbs)

Mr Yamada went out a moment ago

Mr Sato will arrive at about 8 o'clock

The department manager does not smoke

❤️ 3. Structure 3
