a. Meaning: expresses a place, time, field… (“at ~”, “in ~”…).

b. Structure: Noun + において

近代工業はヨーロッパにおいて誕生した。
Kindai kōgyō wa yōroppa ni oite tanjō shita.
Modern industry was born in Europe.

災害時においては、冷静になることが何よりも大切だ。
Saigai-ji ni oite wa, reisei ni naru koto ga naniyori mo taisetsuda.
